Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 May 2026
TransVocal is a voice-recording app published by Rounding Mobile Technologies S.L. (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Spain. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your recordings stay on your device, and the only thing the app may send off your device is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.
The short version
- TransVocal records audio only when you tell it to.
- Your recordings are stored only on your device (or a folder you choose). They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- We collect anonymous usage statistics (how the app’s features are used) through Google Firebase Analytics, to understand what to improve.
- Those statistics never include your recordings, their contents, or any information that identifies you personally.
- You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy. In the EU/EEA and the UK it is off until you opt in; elsewhere it is on by default and you can opt out.
- There is no advertising in the app, and we do not sell your data.
- We operate no servers that hold your recordings, and the app has no user accounts.
Information the app handles
Audio recordings. When you record, the app saves an audio file (.m4a, .wav, or .mp3) to storage on your device — either the app’s private folder, your device’s shared Recordings/TransVocal folder, or a folder you pick. These files stay on your device. We never receive them.
Recording details. The app keeps a small database, stored locally on your device, listing your recordings (file name, date, duration, size, format) so it can show your library. This never leaves your device.
Usage statistics (analytics). If analytics is enabled, the app sends Google Firebase Analytics a stream of anonymous usage events so we can see how the app is used in aggregate. This includes things like: app opens and screen views; that a recording was started or stopped, with its format and an approximate duration range; that a conversion or a scheduled recording was used; plus the standard technical information Firebase collects automatically (a randomly-generated app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, app version, and a coarse, IP-derived region). We have disabled collection of the advertising identifier. Analytics never includes the audio you record, file names, the text of anything, your contacts, your precise location, or your name, email, or phone number.
No accounts, no personal profile. TransVocal does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any account. It does not access your contacts, precise location, photos, or calendar.
Analytics: your choice and your control
- EU/EEA & UK: analytics is off by default. The app asks once whether you want to enable it; nothing is collected unless you agree (your consent is the legal basis). You can withdraw consent anytime in Settings.
- Other regions: analytics is on by default to help us improve the app; you can switch it off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- When you turn analytics off, the app stops collecting and resets its analytics identifier.
Analytics is provided by Google (Firebase Analytics). When enabled, the data described above is processed by Google on our behalf and may be stored on Google’s servers, including in the United States. Google’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s own terms: see Firebase’s privacy information and Google’s Privacy Policy, and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Permissions, and why the app asks for them
- Microphone — to record audio. Used only while a recording is active.
- Foreground service / microphone service — to keep recording reliably while the app is in the background or the screen is off, shown by a visible ongoing notification.
- Notifications — to show the recording-in-progress notification and scheduled / missed-recording alerts.
- Bluetooth — optional; to route microphone input to a paired Bluetooth headset if you enable it. We do not access any other Bluetooth information.
- Modify audio settings — to switch the audio input route (for example, to a headset).
- Read audio / storage — used only by the optional “Re-import recordings” feature, to find your own TransVocal recordings again after you reinstall the app. Read-only.
- Run at startup — to re-arm a recording you scheduled, so it still fires after a device restart.
- Keep device awake — to keep a recording running without interruption.
- Internet — used only to send anonymous analytics when you have it enabled.
Data sharing
We never share your recordings — they do not leave your device. The only data shared is the anonymous usage analytics described above, and only with Google, acting as our analytics provider (data processor), and only while analytics is enabled. We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising or third-party ad tracking in the app.
Storage, retention and security
Your recordings and their details live on your device, under your control. We keep no copies.
- Recordings in the app’s private folder are removed when you uninstall the app.
- Recordings saved to a shared/public folder or a folder you chose remain on your device after uninstall, until you delete them.
- You can delete any recording at any time from within the app or with your device’s file manager.
- Analytics events are retained by Google for a limited period under Firebase’s data-retention settings; they are aggregated and not tied to your identity.
Because your recordings never leave your device, their security is governed by your device’s own protections (screen lock, storage encryption, and so on).
Children’s privacy
TransVocal is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your rights
You are in control of the data the app handles:
- Your recordings are entirely in your hands — play, export (via Share), or delete them directly in the app; we hold no copies to access, correct, or delete on our side.
- You can enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy.
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, the GDPR / UK GDPR gives you rights over your personal data. For the limited analytics data, the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; you may also exercise your rights regarding data held by Google through Google directly. For your recordings, those rights are exercised simply by managing the files on your own device.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be brought to your attention in the app.
